Scott Taylor is the firm’s senior energy lawyer. Scott represents land owners in negotiations involving oil and gas leases, uranium mining leases, wind leases and easements, seismic permitting and option agreements, pipeline easements and conveyances involving mineral and wind rights.

He also represents oil and gas exploration and production companies, oil and gas marketers and pipeline companies, and independent geologists, geophysicists and engineers in transactions involving domestic and international oil and gas exploration joint ventures, oil and gas production sales and acquisitions, operating agreements, joint seismic acquisition agreements, oil and gas marketing agreements, consulting agreements and all aspects of negotiations with land and mineral owners.

In addition, Scott represents clients in regulatory matters involving oil and gas exploration and production activities.

Landowner Representation

The energy attorneys at Branscomb|PC represent landowners in negotiating the terms of seismic permits, option agreements, oil and gas leases, easements, and surface and subsurface use agreements, as well as in uranium leasing transactions. Our energy lawyers also assist landowners in resolving disputes involving operators’ improper use of the land and other breaches of their contracts with landowners. As part of our full range of services, our energy attorneys also prepare drill site and division order title opinions, as well as title curative instruments whenever title defects are discovered.

Oil and Gas Acquisition and Divestitures

Our energy attorneys have extensive experience representing buyers and sellers in sales of producing oil and gas properties, from simple, single-well sales to complex, tax-planned transactions and leveraged purchases. We also represent our clients in fee mineral and royalty transactions.

Wind Energy Transactions
