Rafael Badell Madrid is the founding member of Badell & Grau Law Firm.
Law Degree at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (1982). Specialist (Master´s degree) in Administrative Law at the Universidad Central de Venezuela (1986). Doctor of Laws (PhD) at the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (2008). Individual of Number of the Political and Social Sciences Academy. Management Development Program. IE- Business School, Madrid, 2013. He began in the public law area since 1979, when he joined the Attorney General’s Office, an agency where he held various positions until become Director of Advisory Services of the State and, later, Director of Administrative Litigation. He was associate judge of the First Court of Administrative Litigation. Narrator of the Political-Administrative Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice. Associate Judge of the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice. Associate Judge of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice from January 2001 to April 2005.
Rafael Badell Madrid has worked with equal intensity in both the professional advice, opinions and litigation in administrative courts, constitutional appeals, class actions, administrative contracts, among others. In the same way has been dedicated to academic activity which began in 1982. In that sense, is a professor of Administrative Law at the Universidad Católica Andres Bello. Speaker at various forums related to Public Law in Venezuela, Spain, United Kingdom, Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay and Mexico. He is the author of articles, studies, magazines and books related to this area. In the 1998-1999 academic year Rafael Badell Madrid took the Andrés Bello Chair at St. Anthony’s College, Oxford University and in 2006 was appointed Senior Associate Member of that University.
