About Bazan, Cambre & Orts

Bazán Cambré & Orts was established in 1969 as a result of the merger of the Bazán and Cambré law firms, each of which existed individually since 1953. The goal of its founders was to provide high quality general corporate and litigation counsel.

We have always maintained close relations with our clients, with the aim of rendering cost-effective comprehensive legal counseling, combining our commitment to quality and tradition of customized attention with the latest developments in legal practice. The firm features a significant practice in most of the major commercial fields, including corporate law, international business transactions, oil and gas, mining, public offering of securities, e-commerce, litigation, banking, real estate, labor law, trusts and estates. Our scope of services is largely transaction-oriented, including mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.

“Chambers and Partners”, the world´s leading guide of the legal profession, said that our firm “has a strong track record of representing both foreign and domestic investors in Argentine oil and gas ventures. The team regularly handles a number of disputes and contract renegotiations”. Who´s Who Legal also includes our lawyers in its annual publication of Oil & Gas.

The firm has a diverse clientele, which includes publicly and privately-held local and multinational corporations, oil companies, mining corporations, agricultural ventures, cultural associations, construction companies and individual entrepreneurs. Approximately two thirds of the firm´s practice involves representation of international clients.

Bazán, Cambré & Orts advises domestic and international companies and financial institutions. Our advice includes all legal aspects of syndicate loans, bonds issuances, securitizations and derivatives. Our firm also delivers legal advice for infrastructure and project financing transactions.

Additionally, our firm provides advice on foreign exchange regulations, assisting our clients in all matters relating to foreign trade and exchange transactions.

Bazan, Cambre & Orts provides tax advice, particularly with regard to domestic and international tax planning in business structures, tax audits, determination of tax contingencies and tax-free reorganizations. The Tax Department of Bazan, Cambre & Orts is known for its expertise in participating in complex tax litigation processes, either for national, provincial or municipal taxes.

Bazan, Cambre & Orts is a consultant in customs matters, particularly assisting importers and exporters on matters relating to tax classification, customs valuation, import restrictions, perception of rebates and other incentives to the export of goods; investigations of dumping, subsidies, quotas, safeguards. It also assumes the defense and representation in disputes arising from the General Direction of Customs (AFIP-DGA), including infringement summaries and court cases connected to customs offenses.

In addition, our firm currently has a permanent correspondence relationship with Law Firms in different cities of the world, with which we share a common philosophy in the interpretation of the services expected by our clients and the way of attending them.
