Eigil Lego Andersen was born in 1950 and graduated from the University of Copenhagen in 1975.
In 1988 he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Laws.
In 2009 he was appointed adjunct professor of Copenhagen Business School, Center for Credit Law and Capital Markets Law and in 2014 of Copenhagen University, Center of Business Law.
Eigil Lego Andersen has considerable experience in litigation, including appearing before the Supreme Court, arbitration tribunals and the European Court of Human Rights, where he acted for the successful claimants in a case concerning union membership as condition for employment (“closed shop”).
In 2014 he was awarded the Christrup Prize in recognition of his work as a litigator. Eigil Lego Andersen is frequently appointed as a member of arbitration trials.
Furthermore, Eigil Lego Andersen advices on commercial law and acts as a legal adviser on the sale and purchase of businesses.
Eigil Lego Andersen is also the author of a number of books on the transfer of undertakings, class actions and company law, as well as several articles on civil procedure, property law, company law and tax law etc.
Litigation Law Practice:
The conduct of litigation is an important part of Nielsen Nørager’s practice.
The firm’s advocates frequently appear before the District Courts, the High Courts and the Copenhagen Maritime and Commercial Court, and regularly appear before the Supreme Court. Furthermore, the firm’s partners conduct cases before the European Court of Justice (Henrik Peytz) and the European Court of Human Rights (Eigil Lego Andersen). We frequently conduct arbitration cases or act as arbitrators.
We are very much aware of the possibilities of resolving disputes by negotiation, mediation or conciliation.
