David’s practice centres on high-value commercial arbitration and litigation, particularly on international matters spanning the Asia-Pacific region. David has experience on a wide variety of substantial commercial disputes including international arbitration and litigation in Asia, Europe and the US. David has been in Japan since 2004 and has been recognised as a leading individual for Dispute Resolution in Japan by Chambers Asia-Pacific over the past five years.

He has also been listed in Band 1 as a leading individual for Construction in Japan for five consecutive years since 2010. David is well-regarded by peers and clients alike, with Chambers Asia-Pacific 2013 quoting one client praising “his ability to ‘foresee every possible consequence in a second’.” David advises clients across sectors including engineering and heavy industry, insurance and reinsurance, energy and international trade. He also advises companies on claims arising from fraud and anti-corruption matters, including investigations and resulting claims. David is licensed to advise upon English law in Japan as a Gaikokuho Jimu Bengoshi.
