Having worked for many years advising clients on estate planning, trusts and Wills, Christine is able to offer a wide range of experience to clients. She acts as a trustee for family trusts and as an independent administrator in disputed estates.

Christine also has a particular interest in cross border matters, advising in complex, high value estates. She is also a member of our Brexit planning team and can provide you with specialist advice relating to the private wealth sector.

Christine has written widely on the above topics and is a regular speaker on inheritance tax with reference to agricultural property relief and business property relief. She has also appeared on television and radio: BBC2’s Working Lunch and on Radio 4’s Money Box Live. Christine advises parents of children with learning difficulties and gives seminars on this topic.

Christine holds a Diploma of the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners. She is also a member of the Association ofCitywealth Leaders list 2016 Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists and a member of the Solicitors for the Elderly. She sits as a member of the Private Client Executive Committee of the Law Society and writes regularly for the Private Client Journal of the Law Society. She has contributed to the Country Landowners Association book on Succession Planning.

Christine was the successful personal representative Claimant in the widely reported High Court case of Green v Astor [2013] EWHC 1857, the first reported decision in which the Court has ordered a beneficiary to pay the costs of an application by a personal representative for directions, on the grounds that his unreasonable conduct was responsible for the costs of the application.

Christine recently had an article published in an edition of PS, the magazine of the Law Society’s Private Client Section, entitled ‘Stuck in the Middle’, in which she and Fiona Lawrence provide a first hand account of how challenging the role of Independent Administrator can be, with reference to the Green v Astor judgment. A version of this article was also recently featured in the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPs) Journal.
