Christian Teo is a Legal Counsel and Advocate for the purposes of Indonesian law. He is also a Receiver and Administrator registered with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights as well as being registered with the Indonesian Financial Institutions & Capital Market Supervisory Board as a Capital Market Legal Consultant. Previously a partner with the Indonesian correspondent of an international law firm, he left in 2004 to set up his own firm.
Christian advises on the Indonesian legal and commercial aspects of foreign and domestic investment, information technology, telecommunication projects, real estate and hotel transactions; franchising; structuring and drafting joint venture, corporate, and corporate-transaction documentation; and corporate re-structuring.
Christian has been heavily involved in IT/Telecommunications projects and transactions, which include, among others, assisting clients in various Indonesian Government contracts, establishing operating entities to undertake projects, advising on pioneering joint venture telecommunications companies, drafting documentation for the operating entities, drafting and reviewing various IT/telecommunications-related commercial contracts, and steering licensing approval documentation through government agencies.

The Asia Pacific Legal 500 – The Guide to Asia’s Commercial Law Firm since its 2004/2005 Edition has acknowledged that the founding partner of the Firm, Christian Teo: “…(has) enjoyed excellent reputation for IT and Telecom works…” and the following editions continue to recognize the same reputation. In addition, the same publication has since 2001, continuously recognized Christian as the only leading individual in the IT/Telecoms/Media category in its “Leading Individuals” listing for Indonesia.
The Firm has been actively representing a number of clients on corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisition transactions in the telecommunications, information technology and broadcasting (including media) industries, including preparation of required documentation and the procurement of required approvals. The Firm is now a leader in advising on the 2009 Mining Law and its implementing regulations.
In January 2011, the Firm adopted its current name when Dini S. Purwono (SH, LL.M), a former partner of a well regarded local law firm, came on board to establish the Firm’s securities and capital markets practice.
Commencing in November 2011, the Firm has entered into an association with Stephenson Harwood, an international law firm, which provides a platform to the Firm to launch its international practice.
